How these figures are made
Every light frame in the archive is counted by my Archive Observatory, which reads the capture details from the frames themselves and checks that nothing has gone missing since the last scan. Hours are light frames × their exposure; stacks don't add hours. A night on which a scope saved only its own live stack still counts as a night. The site copies those figures exactly and says when they were taken.
